Hi.
sorry I haven't posted any news about Billy lately, but
there really hasn't been that much to tell.
Billy left cape may and cruised to the Oregon inlet (ok...there is a
story there, but I will let him tell it) and made his way into Pamlico sound.
he worked his way to Washington, north Carolina and left the boat at a marina
there while he flew home for thanksgiving.
He returned on 11/29, and worked on preparing the boat for the
installation of our new watermaker.
Then he worked his way through the ICW, not making many stops (no fun
without me he says). He made it to
Jacksonville FLA on December 14. He is
presently docked at the Trout Brook Marina, which is off the Saint John
River. He found a place where he could
store the boat while he comes home for Christmas.
He says
there is tremendous hurricane damage in this area. There is still a lot of debris along the sides of the roads and
at the marinas. However, the marina he
is at has a brand new dock, and the town is working hard to spruce up for the
Superbowl, which will be in Jacksonville this year.
He has
been keeping busy cleaning up his bachelor's mess, getting ready for my
arrival. Today, 12/19 he flies home for
the holiday. On 1/1 the both of us will
fly to Laguna Beach, CA to visit with his brother until 1/9. We will come home to Marshfield, and then
get our dogs situated. on 1/14, we fly
back to Jacksonville (both of us!) and begin preparations for our trip across
the stream to the Bahamas. I cannot
wait.
I will
be able to send more interesting stories at that point. Billy and I have a way of finding
interesting things which happen to us.....
Things
that are working out well for Billy are the BUS HEATER, which he tapped into
the diesel engine, getting free heat when ever the engine is on, and the dodger
enclosure I made for him, which keeps all that heat in. We will keep you posted on our new
watermaker once it is up and running.
